About

About Uncrafty:

Uncrafty (originally titled Crafts for the Uncrafty) is a sister site to LostGirls that is meant for those of us who are, as Mary's son puts it, "craftarded."   Although most of the LostGirls team consists of crafty ladies (knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, making jewelry, painting, cooking and baking, for example), every one of us can think of at least one craft we are terrible at, but really want to learn.  In addition, the main contributor for Uncrafty is Jess, who is the uncraftiest of the bunch.  The contributors of this site write about writing, sewing, cooking, gardening, knitting, crocheting and painting...so far.

About Jess:

Jess Abbott hails from the San Francisco Bay Area, but is now a resident of the DC Metro Area.  She is the uncraftiest LostGirl, having given up on knitting, crocheting, painting, sketching and decoupage, though she is a decent cook (though limited to Italian food and breakfast).  Jess has fiddled with DIY and owes the little crafting knowledge she has to her mother and stepmother.  Jess has only ever knit one thing: a purple scarf, which her mother will occasionally come across in her storage and laugh at.  Jess is the Admin for all four of the LostGirls sites.

About Mary:

Mary Leonardi-Cattolica is an American expat living in Genoa, Italy.  She likes to knit, crochet, quilt, paint, make jewelry, cook and bake.  She is currently becoming a talented seamstress out of necessity, since all the clothing in Genoa is made for tiny people and Mary looks like a Dutch Amazon to them.  Mary was the first member of the LostGirls editing team and is also a contributor to all four of the LostGirls sites.  You can also find Mary at Between the Mountainsand the Sea.
